Hosting The Coffee Hour During Lent

Thank you for volunteering to share your time, talent and treasure with St. Demetrios. Here are a few gentle guidelines that should make the process easier.

Jody Brown

Please keep in mind Lenten observance for Coffee Hour Fellowship. No dairy products or meat items. If you would like a list of suggestions for appropriate foods just let me know.

**Following Communion the Sunday School will meet in the Assembly Hall and Conference/Warming room. So we do not disrupt the classes it is VERY IMPORTANT to have all snacks arrive by 9:45AM

  • Plan to bring snacks for approximately 125 adults.
  • Please bring ANY SERVING dishes you will need.
  • Please clean up the kitchen/Assembly Hall after coffee hour. Do not leave any food at church. Take home any leftovers or give them away.
  • Wash coffee hour pot and store on counter in Warming Room.
  • Please replace all liners in trash containers.

The coffee will be prepared for you. Coffee, coffee cups, sugars, non-dairy creamer will be provided.

Paper goods are provided, i.e. napkins, small plates, juice cups, plastic ware. If you require something special please let me know in advance.

If you are having a Memorial Service the koliva cups and spoons will be available downstairs in the kitchen, then brought upstairs for the coffee hour. In addition if you require someone to make the koliva you can contact the church office and Kim will arrange that for you. The cost is $100.00

If you would like to bring Metaxa for your Memorial Service small shot glasses can be provided, please let me know in advance.

If there is anything you need or any help please do not hesitate to contact me. I am generally in the church by 9:15 and set up the tables in advance and can also be available to assist you.
